With almost 22,000 vaccinations in one day, Santa Cruz sets a record

The Santa Cruz government reported Friday evening that the department set a record after registering 21,949 vaccinations in one day.

“Today we have the most vaccinated day in the history of vaccination (against) coronavirus in the country and in Santa Cruz,” reported Santa Cruz Headquarters Epidemiology Director Carlos Hurtado, adding that the dates were both City of Santa Cruz de la Sierra and the rest of the provinces.

“This is the best news we’ve had during the entire pandemic,” said Hurtado, stressing that using vaccines on Saturday and Sunday is a strategy to speed up the vaccination process.

The doctor urged the population to maintain biosecurity measures.
