Collectives of women, activists and the Committee for the Defense of Democracy (Conade) launched a vigil on Tuesday to demand the release of former President Jeanine Áñez and the political prisoners, “and persecuted by the MAS government.
The vigil was installed in the Justicia y Paz temple on 25 de Mayo y Bolívar street near Plaza 14 de Septiembre.
“We are installing a permanent vigil in this institution that calls for the freedom of political prisoners. We call on the government to stop the political persecution and stop using the judiciary to prosecute,” former MP Lizeth Beramendi told the media.
The vigil also called for the release of the leaders of the Cochala Youth Resistance (RJC), as well as the military and police officers arrested in the case of the alleged “coup”.
