The La Paz Public Prosecutor’s Office has issued an arrest warrant for the former rector of the Universidad Mayor de San Andrés (UMSA), Waldo Albarracín.

The arrest warrant is dated January 3, 2022 for Janeth A.’s complaint against Albarracín for the alleged crime of “abandoning a pregnant woman” under Article 250 of the Criminal Code.

According to the document, Albarracín needs to be arrested so that he can give his informative testimony on the prosecutor’s case.

From the family of the human rights activist, they deny knowing the document or trying to inform them about the court case opened by a woman in the city of La Paz.
