They are looking for six missing people after the Mapiri River overflowed

The Ministry of Defense reported that six people were missing when the Mapiri River overflowed in northern La Paz department early on Friday.

The Vice Minister for Civil Defense, Juan Carlos Calvimontes, reported that a team of military specialists from the Bolivian Navy had left its base in Guanay to search for and rescue the people who had been swept away by the flood.

The agency also announced that in the next few hours, a team of six military specialists on board a Z9 Army helicopter will be departing from Cochabamba to search for the missing persons, while the rescue work will be coordinated with the Mayor of Mapiri, Alfredo Apaza.
