The government reported that the Covid-19 vaccination card will not be compulsory or a requirement for school enrollment, but noted that this document will be required of students to attend face-to-face classes.
“The ministries of education, health and sport inform the public that the vaccination card against Covid-19 will not be a prerequisite for school enrollment in 2022, but will be required for attending face-to-face classes at the various levels of the plurinational education system”, says it in the declaration of the executive.
Bolivia started vaccinating against Covid-19 for children and adolescents aged 5 to 11 this month.
The government enacted a number of health regulations on Thursday that have included a vaccination card requirement in all public and private facilities since January 1, 2022.
“All authorities and the general population are reminded that the Political Constitution of the State (CPE) and applicable laws protect the fundamental right of all people to have access to education and health,” the statement said.
