The United Nations and the EU endorse the document and trust that justice will reach the victims

The United Nations Office in Bolivia and the Embassy of the European Union have voted in favor of the report of the Interdisciplinary Group of Independent Experts (GIEI) on the events of the political crisis in 2019 and agreed that with this report, justice for the benefit of the victims.

The EU Embassy in Bolivia welcomed the presentation of the report by the GIEI Bolivia Group on the events of the political crisis in 2019 and called for the report to bring justice to the victims.

In a message on Twitter, the diplomatic mission of the European bloc demanded that the GIEI report contribute to peaceful coexistence and dialogue between Bolivians: “@UEenBolivia welcomes the presentation of the #GIEI report in 2019. We hope that this Report enables progress and in a transparent manner to meet its recommendations, and that the dignity of the victims is recognized with the proposed integral reparation.

Then he added: “The GIEI report can and should be another tool to achieve reconciliation in #Bolivia. The #UE confirms its support for any initiative that contributes to peaceful coexistence and dialogue between Bolivians ”.

The United Nations Office in Bolivia, meanwhile, expressed confidence “that the recommendations will be translated into concrete measures that will make it possible to achieve the desire for justice and reparation for all victims”.

It also expresses its readiness to continue to accompany the state and society in consolidating peace and respect for human rights of Bolivians.
