Senator Mercado asked to investigate companies awarded Santa Cruz municipal works

The Deputy Jerges Mercado (MAS) on Wednesday called on the State Ministry to investigate all individuals and companies who have been awarded urban work in the management of Percy Fernández and Angélica Sosa.

“Prosecutors need to investigate who did the city work, what the company was, what family background they were. We all know in Santa Cruz that they came from the environment of former Mayor Percy Fernández,” he said.

He also requested that the investigation be expanded to include groups associated with the former Santa Cruz Community Public Works Secretary.

“You need to examine this group, the middle room that was closely related to the Public Works Secretary at the time of Percy Fernández and Ms. Sosa, and you need to examine Ms. Desiré Bravo and Ms. Sandra Velarde, who was the one who managed the public finances, in short, all secretaries and their family members, “he suggested.

He reiterated that in Santa Cruz it is no secret that the elites always managed the institutions of Santa Cruz, from the Citizens’ Committee, the Mayor’s Office, the Government, the Drinking Water and Basic Sanitation Cooperative (Saguapac), the Telecommunications Cooperative (Cotas) and the Rural Cooperative of Electrification (CRE), among others.

“So there are undoubtedly connections there, most of them are compadres, relatives and they need to be investigated, anyone suspected of having to be investigated, but I always insist on the effectiveness and efficiency that the judiciary should, and so do “Respect for due process, human rights and the presumption of innocence of every Bolivian,” he stressed.
