Senate convenes a session to repeal Act 1386

The Senate Chamber has convened the seventh ordinary session this Tuesday to discuss the bill repealing Law 1386 on the Strategy to Combat the Legitimation of Illegal Profits.

According to the official declaration of this chamber, the convening of the plenary session of the Senate is ready for 8:30 a.m.

On Saturday, President Luis Arce announced the repeal of Law 1386 after unions, transport companies and citizens’ committees struck indefinitely for several days calling for the ordinance to be repealed.

The Chamber of Deputies has called a meeting for the repeal project this Monday at 6 p.m., as confirmed by the President of that Chamber, Freddy Mamani.

The MAS guaranteed that Law 1386 would be repealed; However, unions, transport companies and citizens’ groups will keep pressure on them until the repeal of the law is formalized.
