Santa Cruz reports 1,937 cases of Covid-19 in one day, setting a record

The Santa Cruz Department Health Service (headquarters) reported 1,937 new cases of Covid-19 in one day, the highest number since the pandemic began.

“December 27, 2021, which brings us the largest number of cases in the entire pandemic and the largest number of cases with more or less 600 above the second number,” said Headquarters Epidemiology Manager Carlos Hurtado.

On that day, 1,088 recovered patients and one deceased were also reported.

The specialist added that the numbers showed that Santa Cruz is still in an escalation of cases and has not reached the peak of the fourth wave.
