“Áñez had requested pure and simple freedom in this case, but the court found that there were procedural risks with regard to escape and disability, which is why the ex-president is still detained in Miraflores prison,” said Erbol.
The hearing was scheduled for 8:30 a.m. but was postponed until this afternoon.
The ex-president is serving more than nine months in preventive detention for the “Putsch I” case.
On March 13, Áñez was arrested in Trinidad and transferred to La Paz, where former MAS MP Lidia Patty is filing a sedition and terrorism lawsuit.
