The attorney general Juan Lanchipa reported this Tuesday that the extradition request of the US-imprisoned former government minister Arturo Murillo had been made official in the morning. This document has been submitted to the Third Inquiry Court for Anti-Corruption and Violence against Women in the City of La Paz in the case of “tear gas”.
The extradition request requirements include the translation of the document into English, so the Ministry has hired a team of six specialist translators to carry out this task of more than 2,000 pages, and the Ministry has done that.
“Today the Public Prosecutor’s Office submitted to the competent authority all the documents requesting the extradition of Mr. Murillo, a work of over 2,000 pages translated into English, which the State Department carried out in administrative work required by the judicial authority. It is now up to the judicial authorities to handle the extradition of Mr Murillo through the State Department and transfer it to the USA, ”said Lanchipa.
The subject of the criminal proceedings is the alleged commission of the criminal offenses of improper influence and the like.
