The premature triplets, who were born in La Paz this Monday, are waiting for a medical analysis to rule out that they have contracted Covid-19 from their mother.
The girls are in incubators in the neonatal intensive care unit of the Hospital de la Mujer in the city of La Paz.
“The three babies are stable, we made internal movements to accommodate the minors, but we warn that we have run out of space in the newborn room. A transplacental examination will determine whether they were infected with Covid,” said Gustavo Marconi, director from the Hospital de la Mujer during an interview he gave to the Unitel channel.
The 30-year-old mother has damaged 60% of her lungs from the coronavirus and has already been transferred to the thorax hospital.
