Minors Minors in reception centers and in street situations receive a free ID

This Thursday, through Supreme Decree 4655, the government introduced a free pass for girls, boys and young people from reception centers and people on the street. It is expected that 7,300 will benefit from this service under the Yo soy Bolivia plan.

“It is a special day for our children and young people who are on the streets because this I am Bolivia plan will allow them to have an identity card and so this is a very important step,” said President Luis Arce .

At least 5,700 children and young people are in emergency shelters and more than 1,500 young children live on the streets and could be the beneficiaries, said government minister Eduardo del Castillo.

“This document, made available to them free of charge, establishes the right to identity and will later enable us to develop better guidelines for the benefit of these sectors,” he added.
