Ministry reports that 8 million vaccines against Covid-19 have already been used

Vaccination against Covid-19 reached 8 million doses used in 10 months of vaccination with various laboratories such as Sputnik V, AstraZeneca, Sinopharm, Pfizer and Janssen, according to the latest report from the Ministry of Health.

A total of 3,757,534 doses have been given to health workers, teachers, the elderly, over the age of 18 and pregnant women. Meanwhile, 2,999,913 received the second dose and 958,852 the unit dose from Janssen or Johnson & Johnson of the USA.

In addition, 361,020 people over the age of 18 and with underlying diseases received the third dose.

As of Friday, 35,872 doses had been administered across the country, including teenagers between the ages of 12 and 15 who joined groups receiving the Covid-19 vaccine for free at mass distribution points and in educational institutions.

In total, the national government managed 18 million doses to provide just over 7 million people over the age of 12 with the coronavirus vaccine, which is usually two doses.

Bolivia began vaccinating in late January 2021, giving priority to health workers who have been on the forefront of the pandemic that has struck the country since March 2020.

A vaccination against Covid-19 from the age of 12 has been carried out since November 9th.

The scope of the vaccination against Covid-19 by department with the first dose is as follows: Cochabamba 712,057 vaccinated, La Paz 888,554, Santa Cruz 1,093,115, Chuquisaca 227,346, Tarija 245,074, Potosí 201,380, Oruro 192,902, Pando 52,910 and Beni 144,196.
