Justice Minister Iván Lima said today that all guarantees will be given to former ministers of Jeanine Áñez’s government to deliver their statement on the lawsuit of $ 2.3 million for the purchase of tear gas.
“It is important that all former ministers tell us whether they were accomplices or victims of (Arturo) Murillo. They claim to have been a victim of not being able to stop irregular decrees, decrees that have damaged the treasury; Let them say in advance, we will give them all guarantees to clarify their participation in these three decrees, ”he said at a press conference.
The State Ministry called together the former Ministers of Áñez, who signed the decrees to make the purchase of the chemicals feasible.
Former government secretary Arturo Murillo is arrested in the United States and charged with legitimizing illegal profits with the US financial system.
One of the first to be named as a witness was former Foreign Minister Karen Longaric, who had asked for a virtual testimony through her lawyer because she was in Chile.
“We are honoring Mrs Longaric’s request to make her statement through virtual channels, it is important,” said the Justice Minister, who at the same time stressed that the former minister and current Mayor of La Paz, Iván Arias, appears to be testifying.
