IDIF will conduct a psychological investigation on Percy Fernández this week and prosecutors are awaiting a report

The Forensic Investigations Institute (IDIF) will conduct a psychological assessment this week of former Santa Cruz de la Sierra Mayor Percy Fernández, Javier Cordero, a prosecutor investigating the case of the alleged 800 phantom objects, reported Monday.

Cordero indicated that the prosecutor would wait for the report to decide on the appearance of the former local government.

“It will not be suspended (declaration by the ex-authority). It (is) only the subject of a psychological evaluation that the IDIF psychologists can issue, ”Cordero clarified.

Prosecutors claimed that the situation “does not change anything. The investigation just continues ”.

In the meantime, the police said they had found Fernández’s whereabouts and were waiting for the summons to notify him.

“We know from Mr Percy Fernández that he would be staying in his house because of his fragile health. The arrest warrants will be released and once the prosecutor has issued them, the man will be informed of them, ”said Department Head of the Santa Cruz Bolivian Police, Erick Holguín.

Holguín said the police officers are only waiting for the prosecutor’s subpoena to notify the former agency in accordance with procedural rules.

The Defendant Fernández was summoned this week to testify on the case of ghost items during his tenure and that of Angélica Sosa.

The former mayor’s family requested that the former authority be suspended on the grounds that he could not defend himself because of his delicate health.
