Former President Evo Morales today called on Civic Community (CC) Chairman Carlos Mesa to count every vote cast in the October 2019 election process.
“The Bolivian people and the international community deserve to know the truth. We demand that coup historian Carlos Mesa and his accomplices publicly present the evidence of the alleged ‘fraud. “Voting in Bolivia is manual and the evidence of the vote is the minutes. Let’s count each vote,” Morales said on his social networks.
He referred to the report published by the Organization of American States (OAS) and described it as a “political signal of external interventionism to carry out the coup in Bolivia”.
Morales announces his position after Attorney General Wilfredo Chávez suggested that a review of the 35,000 minutes be carried out in order to “discard” the version of electoral fraud.
“The coup rights and their allied media can no longer seek impunity with falsehood. Reconciliation will be possible with justice and full reparation for the victims of the massacres,” he said.
For his part, the leader of the community, Carlos Mesa, assured that the “huge fraud” could not be “hidden”.
“Because of their ambition and contempt for the will of the people, the gigantic fraud committed by Morales and his accomplices cannot be concealed by submissive officials or improvised pseudo-reports. The investigations by the OAS, the EU, Ethical and Villegas are incontestable and urgent, ”he wrote on his Twitter account.
