The Inter-American Court of Human Rights (Inter-American Court of Justice) announced that Colombia’s 2019 opinion on indefinite re-election will be published after the parties have been notified.
“No dissemination of the aforementioned report is planned for today. It will be published after the states and the Inter-American Commission have been notified, ”read a note from the Inter-American Court of Justice quoted by El Deber.
The Inter-American Court of Justice will decide on an opinion from the Colombian state, the aim of which is to clarify whether indefinite re-election is a human right protected by the Pact of San José. This argument has been used in Bolivia and other countries to justify re-entry.
