The Deputy Minister for Health Insurance and Administration of the Unified Health System, Alejandra Hidalgo, reported this Friday that the Bolivian population has achieved a level of vaccination protection of 72% against Covid-19.
“In the first dose by yesterday, Thursday, it reached 72 percent; in the second dose we reached 60.8 percent centers,” he said in an interview with RTP.
He noted that, unlike other countries waiting for the vaccines to arrive, thanks to the efforts of President Luis Arce Catacora, Bolivia has 22.5 million vaccinations that guarantee the use of the first and second dose.
“It also allows third doses,” he emphasized.
With the recent introduction of the Moderna vaccine of 1.9 million doses, the country has 12,104,890 vaccination sites.
To date, 22.5 million doses of the COVID-19 immunizer have arrived in the country and 10,400,210 doses have been administered by Thursday, he said.
