Health Minister Jeyson Auza confirmed this Wednesday that 90 percent of coronavirus patients in intensive care correspond to people who have not received the vaccine and said the fourth wave of the pandemic in the country will primarily affect these people who have not received cans.
“More than 90 percent of the people who are admitted to the intensive care unit correspond to people who have vaccinated us,” he said at a press conference.
He stated, “The fourth wave, when this fourth wave occurs, will only affect those who have not been vaccinated, it is not an exaggeration, the fourth wave will only be for those who have not been vaccinated.”
The minister claimed that two million vaccines were still available in the country and urged sub-national governments to speed up vaccination campaigns.
He said there was no thought of giving a third dose at this time as the priority was to vaccinate the entire population over the age of 18 with the first and second dose.
“We have between 2 to 3 million vaccines that have not yet been used, we ask Bolivian women and men to go to the vaccination centers, before we think about a third dose, we have to try to give the first two doses, in addition to doing so the WHO this. ” do not recommend giving a third dose at the moment, ”he claimed.
