Foreign Secretary Rogelio Mayta reported this Tuesday that based on the election report in the Permanent Council of the Organization of American States (OAS), the government will file a “meddling in national internal affairs” complaint against its Secretary-General Luis Almagro from 2019.
“What is the stage to claim? We have to claim what we have to claim is within the institutional framework of the OAS (…). We should discuss this in the Permanent Council, there we plan to bring these things. In this declaration ( the ratification of the report) is already the responsibility and we will not stop pointing out that we will complain to the OAS directly there, ”he announced in an interview on the Bolivian television program“ Primer Plano ”.
The diplomatic authority stated that the OAS Security Council was created precisely so that the international organization would not break its rules.
He assured that Almagro’s statement intends to use the expertise of the BISITE Deep Tech Lab Research Group of the General Foundation of the University of Salamanca, Spain, in the field of computer security and network administration on the integrity of the results of the presidential election on October 20, 2019.
Mayta described this action as “total and unacceptable excess”.
“A secretariat cannot return as judge, party, executioner of the American states. In other words, the people in this secretariat are mere employees. The owners of the OAS are the states. All countries, those of the north, those of the south ”. , from the Caribbean, from Central America, “he recalled.
“They are assigning roles and powers that they don’t have and the states that are part of the OAS cannot allow them to do so,” he added.
Mayta mentioned that if the criminal case for electoral fraud is rejected as a closed case and the report of the Interdisciplinary Group of Independent Experts (GIEI) on the 2019 elections is released next week, it will analyze what further action will be taken “against it. OEA by Almagro and with Almagro himself “.
