Government meets with Aasana workers to avoid national strike

The government and representatives of the airport administration and air traffic control auxiliary services (Aasana) started a meeting tonight to avoid permanent unemployment of workers citing the lack of response to their demands. The press release, due to begin tomorrow, was announced by Aasana executives last week.

Minister Edgar Montaño for Public Works and Marcelo Montenegro for Economy and Public Finance take part in the meeting. In addition to the Deputy Minister for Budget and Financial Accounting, Zenón Pedro Mamani.

The workers repeated their call for a revolving fund of 34 million bolivianos and called for the payment of the May salary to be delayed.
