Friday the 31st is the deadline for submitting the statutes of the political parties in Bolivia

The Supreme Electoral Court (TSE) has informed the political parties and citizen groups through the Chamber Secretariat that the statutes of the bodies in accordance with Law 1096 of Political Organizations must be submitted by no later than December 31, 2021, 4:00 p.m., the deadline for compliance with this provision.

The information was transmitted through instruction TSE-PRES-SC No. 056/2021, which consists of six points:

Political organizations that have obtained their legal personality on the basis of Law No. 1096 on Political Organizations do not need to update their internal statutes.

The Organizational Policies must submit the documents demonstrating the adequacy of their internal statutes by 4:00 p.m. on December 31, 2021. The report of the political organizations that submitted the documents is emailed to ([email protected]: [email protected]).

The electoral courts must form working committees between the chamber secretary and the legal adviser to examine the documents for adapting the internal statutes.

The full chamber of the electoral competition court issues a resolution on the basis of the report of the constitutional examination commission and the SIFDE monitoring report, which orders the refusal or approval of the entry of the legal amendments of the political organization. This decision must be issued within thirty (30) calendar days from the receipt of the registration application submitted by the Political Organization, in accordance with the provisions of paragraph 1 of Article 24 of Law No. 1096 on Guidelines of Organizations.

The departmental election courts must prepare weekly reports on the registration or rejection of amendments to the statutes of political organizations. This information must be in Excel format (attached) by email ([email protected]; [email protected]).

The electoral courts of the departments must submit certified copies of the registered statutes and the resolutions in which their entry is made to the Supreme Electoral Court by February 4, 2022.

It also reminds political parties and citizen groups that this process of adjustment will not allow other circulars such as TSE-PRES-SC No. 047/2021 of July 13th and TSE-PRES-SC No. 053/2021 of July 8th, both from the current management , which contains the building blocks to which you have to adapt your organizational structure and hand in by December 31st.
