Former ambassador, former diplomat and former minister Marcelo Ostria died in the last few hours, various media reported.

The tarijeño politician was Foreign Minister in 1975. Between 1999 and 2002 he was Bolivian Ambassador to the Organization of American States (OAS). He was also the Bolivian representative in Israel, Venezuela and Uruguay.
In 2005 he was foreign policy advisor to former President Eduardo Rodríguez. That was his last position in the public service.
The diplomat also taught at the Universidad Privada Boliviana (UPB), Univalle, among others. He was also a columnist for various media such as Los Tiempos, El Deber, La Patria and El Periódico.
