Fire continues at mattress factory in Santa Cruz

The fire continues at a mattress factory in the Sixth Ring area of ​​Santa Cruz city. The firefighters asked for cooperation with the AFF fire protection supplies, reported Red Uno.

The fire, which broke out around 6:30 p.m., consumed the interior of the factory and affected the structure, said the chief of the fire department of the Santa Cruz police, Francisco Vidaurre, adding that the property damage was significant. There are no reports of injuries.

“The fire consumed the interior, weakened the infrastructure and endangered the permanence of the personnel who attacked the fire with water. We had to use heavy machinery, ”Vidaurre told the Santa Cruz media.

Firefighters and rescue workers have been fighting the fire for more than five hours but have not yet managed to get the fire under control. The fire reached a height of several meters and several explosions were also registered.

A dozen people were affected by the intense smoke, Unitel reported. Meanwhile, one of the managers of the mattress company had been moved to a clinic because of smoke poisoning, reported El Deber.
