Research Center for Labor and Agricultural Development (Cedla) researcher Bruno Rojas Callejas said today that following the measures adopted by the national government to reimburse affiliated pension fund administrators (AFP), calls for a “deep reform” of the pension system.
“I think I suggest that they take minimal account of the pros and cons of withdrawing these contributions. This measure, the money they receive today, would be a relief, but the poverty or the misfortune of tomorrow. They also call for the pension system to undergo a profound reform that regains the principles of solidarity, ”he said on A Media Mañana de Los Tiempos and Grupo Centro.
He also pointed out that the measure could lead to “more people without access to old-age provision”.
