Former Santa Cruz Governor Rubén Costas reported this Friday that he had managed to overcome the coronavirus and announced that his informative statement regarding the investigation into the diversion of public resources in Santa Cruz Governorate will take place on January 10th .
The former authority went to the public prosecutor’s office to find out the new date of his appearance and, in a brief conversation with the media, confirmed that he had overcome the virus and that his subpoena would be scheduled next week.
“My statement is due on Monday (at the prosecutor’s office),” said Costas before the media inquiry.
The trial he is facing in the prosecutor’s office is due to the alleged diversion of public funds of at least 700,000 baht that should have been used to fight the coronavirus in the sub-national elections.
On January 4, Santa Cruz Governor Fernando Camacho was called to witness and upheld the alleged irregularities committed during the Costa reign.
