Fernando Camacho, Governor of Santa Cruz, will not be traveling to La Paz for the meeting of the National Council of Autonomies, which is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. tomorrow at Casa Grande del Pueblo.

Santa Cruz Government Justice Minister Efraín Suárez noted that the decision was made because of “the progression of the pandemic and the lack of guarantees” for Camacho.

“The national government has been asked to attend the meeting virtually so that it can speak according to the regulations,” added the official.

Suárez indicated that they hope “freedom of movement and physical integrity” will be guaranteed by Camacho.

The meeting brings together governors, representatives of the mayors, the indigenous autonomies and a leader of the regional autonomies.

President Luis Arce will be absent from the meeting as he has traveled to Cuba to attend the ALBA summit.
