According to Health Minister Jeyson Auza’s report, there has been a decline in coronavirus infections across the country in the past two weeks. He stressed that the reduction in the number of daily cases was the result of a coordinated approach between the government and the department’s health services.
“In week 24 we had a 20% decrease in cases in almost all departments, we could say all of them except Chuquisaca, which saw a slight increase of 6% but had week 25 in the last week that has just closed we reported a decrease across all departments, with a national report of 23% of cases, “the agency said.
The minister stressed that the infection numbers should be treated with caution and that biosecurity measures should be maintained.
“A 23% decline is really hopeful, but that can change anytime,” he warned.
On Monday night, the Ministry of Health reported 1,633 new infections and 50 deaths. Cochabamba, Santa Cruz and Beni are the departments where most of the cases have been recorded.
On the other hand, he announced that from this Tuesday, coronavirus diagnostic centers will be activated in all Mi Teleférico stations.
Bolivia received more than two million diagnostic tests for this measure, including PCR and nasal antigen.
