Argentina will donate a million AstraZeneca vaccines to Bolivia on Monday

The Argentine Ministry of Health said it will donate a million doses of AstraZeneca vaccines to Bolivia on Monday.

“This is the largest single dose donation between countries in South America since the global pandemic was declared,” the Argentine ministry said in a statement.

The cans will be transported in an Argentine Air Force Hercules C-130 ship.

“An Argentine delegation led by the nation’s health minister, Carla Vizzotti, and the head of the White Helmet Commission, Sabina Frederic, will leave for the plurinational state of Bolivia on Monday to deliver the donation of one million doses of AstraZeneca vaccines and to share experiences about vaccination strategies, “said the Argentine government.

Argentina claimed it was able to make its contribution to Bolivia as 82% of the Argentine population have been vaccinated with one dose and 68% have the full system.

“With the supply of doses required to start and complete the pending schedules and vaccinating additional and booster doses for all residents of the national territory and having exceeded the continent’s average vaccinated population, our country is in good shape, to contribute to the vaccination campaign in Bolivia, ”he adds.
