The National Press Association (ANP) apologized this Monday from attending the meeting convened by Vice Minister of Communications Gabriela Alcón and asked for a different date for the appointment to be agreed.
“I inform you that difficulties in synchronizing the presence of myself and the members of the Board of Directors of the National Press Association (ANP) who live in different cities in Bolivia with just one day in advance compel us to apologize from the Attend the meeting called by his office for this Monday, November 15th, ”reads the letter sent by the ANP.
The association noted that “the ANP has at all times promoted and defended certain respectful and normal relationships with the media, for which we have repeatedly sponsored and visited spaces for dialogue both with you and with the various previously competent authorities” .
Finally, the ANP proposed to coordinate the meeting on a different date to analyze the “hostile climate” towards media and journalists that is being promoted from different sectors.
The meeting was scheduled for 3:00 p.m. on Monday.
