The director of the Special Unit to Combat Violence (Felcv), José María Velasco, reported that the murder of a woman who died this Friday and was stabbed to death in her home in the north of the city of Santa Cruz is under investigation. Likewise, the body of the person who was supposed to be his attacker was found with no signs of life.
“For now we have the information that there would be about seven or eight stab wounds (made) with a knife. The real cause of death will be told by the coroner,” Velasco said in contact with the Unitel network.
According to the preliminary report of the Felcv, the subject would have committed suicide after committing the femicide. Both bodies are in the morgue awaiting forensic autopsy. The troops are investigating the incident, checking the crime scene and receiving statements from neighbors and acquaintances.
“We collected the allegedly murderous weapon, which is a household knife. All the investigative work is being carried out where this unfortunate event occurred,” said Velasco.
Police said the victim was trading near a health center in the area and had returned to his home, where she was believed to have had an argument with his partner.
“Within the family environment, it became apparent that jealousy situations led to problems with quarrels as a couple. The neighbors claim that the disputes were constant due to the couple’s claims, we are investigating, ”the agency continued.
To date, there are 67 femicide cases mourning families in Bolivia in 2021.
