Former President Jeanine Áñez was transferred to a clinic in the city of La Paz this Tuesday to undergo medical examinations, media from the seat of government reported.
The Unitel Network reported that the ex-president left Miraflores Prison, where she is in preventive detention, at 10:00 am accompanied by some relatives and under heavy police violence.
Pictures from the APG agency show the ex-president being transferred to an ambulance and surrounded by more than 20 police officers.
Áñez was injured last Saturday by injuring his wrists, which raised concerns about his health.
International organizations, former presidents and politicians called on the former president to defend herself freely.
Áñez has been detained for the alleged coup since March.
