Former President Jeanine Áñez issued a public letter this Friday from Miraflores Prison, asking in peace that God “protect and bless” Bolivia.
“From my unjust imprisonment, far from my country and mine, I ask God to bless and protect Bolivia in unity and freedom. This Christmas, I wish every family that the grace of the birth of Jesus spread much peace, love and health in their homes, ”said the former authority.
The ex-president has been in preventive detention in the “Coup I” case since March of this year, and her detention was later extended to include the “Coup II” case.
ÁÑez repeatedly denounced being a victim of political persecution by the MAS government.
Carolina Riber, daughter of the ex-president, said yesterday that her mother will be “kidnapped, detained, ill-treated and without due process” over the Christmas break.
“(This) will be the first time my mother kidnapped, detained, abused and lost her freedom without due process at Christmas,” Ribera told CNN.
