Amparo Carvajal and Carolina Rivero join the vigil in Cochabamba;  ask for the release of political prisoners

The President of the Permanent Assembly of Human Rights of Bolivia (Apdhb), Amparo Carvajal, and Carolina Rivero, daughter of former President Jeanine Añez, today announced their visit to the vigil set up by the Committee for the Defense of Democracy (Conade) in Cochabamba. demand the freedom of political prisoners.

“Today women have come together to defend human rights, to defend justice, to demand freedom for my mother Jeanine Añez and for all political prisoners. Today we will be present at the vigil to raise our voices,” said Rivero in the press conference.

Two days ago, groups of women, activists and Conade set up a vigil to demand the release of former President Jeanine Áñez and the political prisoners, police, military and members of the Cochala Youth Resistance (RJC). Conade representative Lizeth Beramendi asked the police for guarantees that the vigil would continue, which denounced threats against the integrity of the participants on social networks.
