President Luis Arce reported that 99,989 policyholders have withdrawn their pension fund administration (AFP) contributions of more than 500 million bolivianos.
The president shared the information through his Twitter account.
“As a government, we are committed to determining the repayment of contributions to the AFPs to meet the needs of the population following the pandemic and the catastrophic coup management. We complied and voluntarily withdrew 99,989 policyholders from more than 516.8 million Bolivians in the first month, ”he wrote.
Premium refunds began on October 6 in light of the crisis caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.
The 100 percent total reimbursement applies to insured persons who are 50 years of age or older and have 10,000 bolivianos or less in credit in their Personal Retirement Account (CPP).
Various experts recommended that contributions not be withdrawn unless really necessary.
