A colonel is finally released: two police officers sanctioned for the 2019 uprising

Yesterday, the Police Disciplinary Court ordered the final dismissal of Colonel Nelson Flores, a former Cochabamba UTOP member, in the process opened by the 2019 police riot, Vice Home Secretary Nelson Cox reported.

“Last night, former commandant general Yuri Calderón was sanctioned and Lieutenant Colonel Nelson Flores are the first two to be released. And on that basis we still have 20 cases pending in the disciplinary court, ”said Cox in Cochabamba.

The Deputy Minister confirmed that the preliminary investigation through which both people were released “resulted from failure to comply with the provisions of Law 101 because they were the instigators of a police riot. They damaged public services ”.
