While the Covid-19 cases in the state axis are increasing as a result of the fourth Covid-19 wave, at least 44 percent of the target population of 7.2 million people to be vaccinated have already received a dose of the coronavirus vaccine, according to the latest report from the Ministry of Health.
Nationwide, 8,753,015 people over the age of 18 have already been vaccinated. Of the total amount, 4,147,740 received the first dose and 983,339 received the single dose.
Meanwhile, 3,237,068 have been vaccinated with the full schedule and an additional 384,877 received the third or booster dose of AstraZeneca.
The Ministry of Health and Sports reports in its Covid-19 vaccination report that by Sunday 8,753,015 doses between the first, second unit dose and the third dose of the Sputnik V, AstraZeneca, Sinopharm, Pfizer and Janssen vaccines had been administered across the country.
The national government administered 18 million vaccines to protect the population from the severe forms of the Covid-19 pandemic.
In this new phase of the pandemic, the unvaccinated are hardest hit. Ninety percent of intensive care hospital admissions come from patients who have not been vaccinated.
The report by the National Directorate of Epidemiology finds that the national cumulative number of recovered patients to date is 497,115.
